Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ is here to quickly and easily answer the majority of your questions. Please do not directly message with questions before reading this FAQ in it's entirety. Thank you for respecting and valuing my time. 🖤
General FAQ
Do you sell hats too, or just crochet patterns?
I sell both crochet hats and crochet patterns.
What is a crochet pattern?
A crochet pattern is the instructions for crocheting a specific item. They are digital files, not physical products.
I don't live in the US, do you ship internationally?
I do ship internationally for an additional fee. Those fees will be calculated at checkout. Please keep in mind that crochet patterns are digital; therefore they will be emailed to you directly.
What fibers do you work with?
I work with a variety of fibers. I always include the fiber content of each hat I make in the product description.
What's your favorite yarn to work with?
I honestly don't have a favorite line of yarn. I enjoy using whimsical yarn that has a variety of colors, textures, and/or fibers in a single skein. I also love using yarn that has sparkles incorporated into it.
Do you have recommendations for resources to learn how to crochet for complete beginners?
I wish I had specific resources to suggest, but I don't. I learned most of what I know from YouTube tutorials and various crochet patterns.
What hair dye do you use?
I use Lunar Tides Hair Dye. You can use the code theentangledfae15 to save some money if you decide to purchase from them. I don't have a ratio for my currently hair color, sorry!
Where did you get your wing glasses?
They are from iLitDesigns. They are not functional glasses, they are a decorative accessory.
Where did you get your prescription glasses from?
Where do you get all your clothing and accessories?
I credit everything in the captions of my posts on social media. If something isn't credited it's because I don't know where it came from.
FAQ about Ready to Ship Products
I don't see any hats listed on your site, how do I go about placing an order for one?
I do releases of ready to ship items every couple of months. The best way to stay up to date on future restocks is by subscribing to my emails on the home page of my website. You can also always find the date of the next restock in the bio of all of my social media accounts and on the home page of my website.
Most items usually sell out within the first 10 minutes of the release. This is why you will often notice that I don't have crochet hats for sale between restock dates. This is why I encourage folks to set an alarm and be on my website at the time the items are set to release. You can also create an account on my website ahead of time to speed up your checkout process. Please keep in mind the platform I use to host my website does not allow you to hold items that are in your cart so you do need to be quick when shopping my releases.
I know it's stressful and not ideal, but this is the best system I have at the moment. I will always share a full preview of each release on my website 48 hours prior to the release date/time. I do this so that y'all can have a chance to check out the price, fiber content, and size of each hat ahead of time and get a hat that's a good fit for you.
Can I order a hat in a custom color?
I do not take custom orders and I will not make any exceptions.
I really love the hat you recently shared on your social media account! Is there any way I can place a hold on it instead of you releasing it during your next restock?
I do not accept holds or preorders. I like to give my followers a fair chance at purchasing my products.
I really love that hat you previously shared on your social media account. Will there be more available during your next restock?
Most of my hats are one of a kind. I make what I am feeling called to make. It is possible that I may bring a design in a specific colorway back for a restock, but it's never guaranteed. I do my best to make a variety of my designs for restocks.
I would like to budget for your next restock, can you please share with me how much your products cost?
My prices vary as many things are factored into the price (such as materials, labor, etc.) Here is rough idea of how much some of my designs cost. These prices include shipping if the product is shipped within the US. These prices are just for the basic designs, and do not include products made with high quality yarn or products that include extra embellishments like animal ears, added motifs, extra details on the brim, etc.
FaeFoolery Cap: $150
Twisteria Witch Hat: $135
Slouchy Witch Hat: $125
Elf Beanie: $95

I have a larger/smaller than average sized head. Will your hats fit me?
I do my best to make hats in a variety of sizes. I include the measurements in my product descriptions. Be sure to measure your head ahead of the restock to make sure you purchase a hat that will fit you!
Do you make your hats in child sizes?
I currently do not offer hats in child sizes.
FAQ about Crochet Patterns
Where can I find your crochet patterns?
You can find them on my website. You can also find them on Etsy and Ravelry (I'm The Entangled Fae on both platforms). I'm hoping to have them available on Ribblr at some point too.
Are your patterns beginner friendly?
I do not recommend any of my patterns as a first project, as most of them are worked in the round and include stitches other than just Sc, Hdc, and Dc. However, I have received feedback from many beginner crochet artists saying that they were able to successfully complete my patterns as a first project. My patterns include many images to guide you through the project. I also include a suggested skill level in the product description for each pattern.
Can I sell products I make using your patterns?
I do allow makers/small businesses to sell items made using my patterns! All I ask is that you credit me (The Entangled Fae), and the pattern in your product listing/advertising materials. I also ask that you don't undersell your work and charge what your time is actually worth! I encourage makers to charge no less than $20 an hour for labor; but don’t forget to factor in other things to your product prices as well such as: listing fees, processing fees, transaction fees, materials, time it takes to advertise your product, shipping costs, shipping supplies, time it takes to package your products, etc. Feel free to email me if you have questions about pricing products. I'm happy to chat through my process with you.
How do you get the brims of your hats to stay stiff?
I use wire. I include instructions on how to do so in all of my stiff brimmed hat patterns.
What yarn would work best for your "_____" pattern?
The recommended yarn, and other materials for the project, are included in the product description of the listing and in the crochet pattern itself.
I'm more of a visual learner, can you make video tutorials for your designs?
Unfortunately I do not offer video tutorials and currently have no plan of doing so. However, all of my patterns have somewhere between 20-60 photos to help out folks who are visual learners.
